      Conservatives Happier Than Liberals

Posted by theangryindian from Live Science

Regardless of marital status, income or church attendance, right-wing individuals reported greater life satisfaction and well-being than left-wingers, the new study found. Conservatives also scored highest on measures of rationalization, which gauge a person's tendency to justify, or explain away, inequalities.

Clinton Campaign Done in By Black Voters

      Posted by Jeff

This will be history's verdict: in the end, the Clintons were defeated not by Republicans, but by African-American Democrats. How wonderful. How poignant. In the end, the karma gets you. Maybe it had to be this way. But this final coup de grace against these awful, hollow, cynical people is a beautiful, beautiful thing.

    • Jimmy Carter: Pariah Diplomacy

Posted by Jeff from Truth Out

Through more official consultations with these outlawed leaders, it may yet be possible to revive and expedite the stalemated peace talks between Israel and its neighbors. In the Middle East, as in Nepal, the path to peace lies in negotiation, not in isolation.

The BRAD BLOG : Hillary Clinton: The Luckiest Woman in the World

Posted by Damianmann from Brad Blog

With 99.51% of the vote reportedly counted as of this moment, according to the PA Dept. of State s own numbers, it s Clinton s 54.6% to Obama s 45.4%. So, in truth, that s actually just a 9.2-point difference, but, as luck would have it for the New York Senator, rounding each of those numbers to their nearest percent, as the bulk of the media were happy to do today, allows for a nice, easily-trumpeted, double-digit, 55% to 45% number that can be reported far and wide!

Steve Weissman: Tibet and the Games Nations Play

Posted by Jeff from Truth Out

"The Government of the United States has borne in mind the fact that the Chinese Government has long claimed suzerainty over Tibet and that the Chinese Constitution lists Tibet among other areas constituting the territory of the Republic of China," the State Department declared in 1943. "This Government has at no time raised a question regarding either of these claims."

George W Bush Sewage Plant In S.F., With Your HELP

      Posted by j1o2n3a4s5

To dishonor George W. Bush, the Presidential Memorial Commission of San Francisco is changing the name of the Oceanside Wastewater Treatment Facility. The group would like to rename the facility to the "George W Bush Sewage Plant." Write In! If we can't get the overdue rightful impeachment or immediate war crimes tribunals this is a helpful start.

Howard Zinn: The End of Empire? | ForeignPolicy | AlterNet

      Posted by Damianmann from Alternet

In Iraq, in Afghanistan, and at home, the position of the globe's "sole superpower" is visibly fraying. The country that was once proclaimed an "empire lite" has proven increasingly light-headed. The country once hailed as a power greater than that of imperial Rome or imperial Britain, a dominating force beyond anything ever seen on the planet, now can't seem to make a move in its own interest that isn't a disaster. The Iraq government's recent offensive in Basra is but the latest example with -- we can be sure -- more to come.

African-Americans may have voted for Obama in overwhelming numbers, but so did young voters, new voters and pretty much anyone that paid attention to current events. I mean there has got to be a reason that Fox News and friends are supporting Mrs Clinton and whether it is that they think she will be easier to beat or she will continue on the path of Reagan, Bush, and Bush it can’t be a good one.

Corporate media is making it look like Clinton will earn her nomination/win against Obama in a hard fought contest; Obama will bow to her soon.  THEN says Corporate Media, the Luckiest Citizens in the World with get Clinton vs. McCain in 2008.
