    • The Bad Guys

      Posted by Orato

I am often asked what Pickton looks like and how I can possibly look at him day after day, for right now, he seems like the bad guy to a lot of people. When I look at him, he reminds me of that congealed jelly-like substance at the top of various canned meat products when you open the container (not that I personally have opened them, but I am sure we've all had a sandwich at grandma's with the amazing mystery meat)...

      I'm An Exotic Animal Broker

      Posted by Orato

I sell exotic animals for a living. There are some animals I won’t sell to certain people, and I won’t sell tigers as a pet, although I’ve sold them to zoos, which are licensed facilities. I heard about the tragedy in British Columbia where the woman was mauled by her boyfriend’s tiger. My personal view is that tigers should not be kept as pets. However, living in the United States, in what is supposed to be a free country, I think if someone wants to have a tiger...

Tony Millionaire: And Then There Was Maakies

      Posted by Orato

Tony Millionaire is the creator of Maakies, a syndicated comic strip that appears in numerous high profile papers across North America, including The Stranger and LA Weekly, as well as in Italian and Norwegian magazines. The comic spawned a Saturday Night Live cartoon and a new Cartoon Network series, The Drinky Crow Show. Despite the subversive behavior of his characters and the literal toilet humor you’d expect from a teenager...

    • My Former Life as A Male Prostitute

My date is 55 and im 19. On our first date, more than two years ago, he took me out to dinner and asked me all about mu life and my aspirations. "I told him how dysfunctional my family was," I remember. "And he said, 'OK, let's go back to my place and I'll just play with you. I'll give you $250 if you just let me play with you.'"

      Climb Aboard The Olympic Bandwagon

      Posted by Orato

When will Vancouverites start waving the 2010 towel? You know, the white towel we all pull out if our local hockey team, the Vancouver Canucks, make the playoffs. The white towel we wave only at the last minute when we know everyone else will be waving it too. When it comes to the bandwagon, Vancouverites are lined-up down the block waiting to hop aboard. The media announce its arrival and we all run out the door. Even if we can’t get a seat, at least we can say we saw it go by.

Let's See. A Yacht, Or A New Kidney?

      Posted by Orato

There is a sport that I suppose is played around the world that baffles me, no end. Just because I don't like to watch or play it doesn't mean it's a lousy game. Don't get me wrong. I don't have a grudge against anyone nor do I envy the champions of this sport. I have a good friend who seems to enjoy getting up at four to arrive on the greens by six. Not a terrible scenario...unless you consider that his foursome finishes the round four and a half hours later.
