      Posted by theangryindian from pressesc.com

Pope Benedict XVI courted fresh controversy today by formally sanctioning the celebration of a Latin prayer that calls for Jews to "be delivered from their darkness" and calls for their conversion to Christianity. "In parishes, where there is a stable group of faithful who adhere to the earlier liturgical tradition, the pastor should willingly accept their requests to celebrate the Mass according to the rite of the Roman Missal published in 1962, and ensure that the welfare of these faithful

Posted by theangryindian from Think Progress

The ever-shrinking group of Americans who believe invading Iraq was a good idea may soon receive some support, in the form of a memoir by one of its key architects, Donald Rumsfeld. The former defense secretary has the publishing world “abuzz” over the possibility that he may write a book “justifying the military strategy for the war in Iraq.” While a deal has not yet been struck, Mr. Rumsfeld has toured New York publishing houses with an outline of his book in an effort to gau

    Lebanon Security Forces Attack Fatah

This headline is misleading. Fatah is commonly used to denote the secular bourgeois-nationalist group founded by Arafat, the largest group in the Palestine Liberation Organization, now engaged in a low level civil war in the Occupied Territories against Hamas. The group attacked by the Lebanese army is (apparently) an Islamic fundamentalist group called Fatah al-Islam.
