    • Nate Silver Cussed Out By Angry Wingnut

      Posted by Jeff from Wonkette

Balls of steelWow! One might have guessed, given his charmingly nerdsome appearance and general blinky “how do I translate from numbers into English?” mannerisms that Nate Silver would be somewhat conflict averse. But no man he BRINGS IT. He interviewed some guy who commissioned a Zogby poll that proved, factually, that Obama voters are all a bunch of ignorant black Muslims. There’s even a YouTube to prove it! Anyhow Silver called up this very shirty gentleman John Ziegler to discuss his survey methods. Ziegler called him a pinhead and said many hilariously nasty things.

NS: What was the right answer to that [Palin] question?
JZ: The technically accurate question [sic] is that none of the four people said that, but we counted it as correct if they said Sarah Palin.

NS: Why would you commission a survey question with no correct response?
JZ: The purpose of the question, you pinhead, was we wanted to determine the Tina Fey Effect.

      [...]

NS: Would you consider yourself well-informed?
JZ: I’d consider myself extremely well-informed.

NS: Who are the two senators from South Dakota?
      JZ: Thune and, uh, Johnson.

      NS: Very good. South Carolina?
JZ: Go **** yourself. I’m done with this interview if you’re going to ask me stupid questions like that. Obviously I know who Lindsay Graham is.

NS: Well, since you’re running a website calling people misinformed, I’d like to see if — there are certain things you’ve said that I would consider misinformed.
JZ: Misinformed? You’re a piece of work! You are never going to have the guts to post a representative transcript on your website! I thought you actually ran a legitimate website!

NS: Thank you, have a good day.
      JZ: Go **** yourself.

The whole transcript is available here.

    • Sarah Palin: The Julie McCoy of CPAC?

      Posted by Jeff from firedoglake

Rich Lowry's Wet Dream Oh, if only CPAC were having its convention on a cruise ship to Alaska. . . . Think Progress reports: In an apparent attempt to maintain her national profile following her defeat on November 4, Gov. Sarah Palin (R-AK) scheduled a marathon of high-profile interviews with local and national media. Her media blitz concluded with an awkward press conference and a speech to the the Republican Governors Association last week. Now, it appears that Palin’s post-election comeba...

    • Alaskan Elections Were Probably Very Corrupt & Fraudulent, It Being Alaska And All

      Posted by Jeff from Wonkette

Fancy this mystery from Alaska: as things stood before the election, recently convicted-on-seven-counts felon Ted Stevens was appropriately losing by 13 percentage points in The Polls; similarly corrupt (but so far unconvicted!) at-large Rep. Don Young was losing by 6.5; John McCain was ahead by 14 in the state; early voting in the state was shattering records; and hometown gal Sarah Palin was still all the national rage. Sounds about right, HEHNGNN? And yet Alaska now finds itself on the brink of re-electing Stevens; Young easily kept his seat; McCain won by 25 percentage points; and voter turnout somehow declined 11% since 2004, when there was no mention of Alaska in the news! HMM WEIRD HUH? Well, fear not, because the most important mammal since Abraham Lincoln, NATE “DOGG” SILVER, is going to nab the bastards with his KILLA TREND LINE REGRESSIONS and cold mother****in’ MATH LASER GLOCKS. Then he’ll launch those slimy pervs into space with a pop-gun because he can do that. [FiveThirtyEight, Andrew Sullivan]

Shannyn Moore: Stolen Election from Alaska?

Posted by Jeff from Huffington Post

Four years ago, 313,592 out of 474,740 registered voters in Alaska participated in the election-a 66% turnout. Taking into account 49,000 outstanding ballots, on Tuesday 272,633 out of 495,731 registered Alaskans showed up at the polls; a turnout of 54.9%. That's a decrease of more than 11% in voter turnout even though passions ran high for and against Barack Obama, as well as for and against Sarah Palin! This year, early voters set a new record. As of last Thursday, with 4 days left to vote early, 15,000 Alaskans showed up-shattering the old record set in 2004 by 28%! The inconsistencies go on... Something is stinky up North and it's not the rotting Salmon.

    • Whack Job Palin’s Diva Exit From America

      Posted by Jeff from Wonkette

Snowbilly meltdown. As the snow-meth icing on the Baked Alaska of Sarah Palin’s hilarious public self-destruction which is also hilariously destroying the the grisly remaining blood-and-gristle bits of the Republican Party, here is how ABC News describes her exit from the McCain Failure Party, where she was not allowed to speak: “And when McCain and Palin split up in Arizona Wednesday, the personal differences were stark. McCain drove himself home in a Toyota sport utility vehicle. Palin’s departure was a grander event. She left with an entourage of 18 family members and friends and a Secret Service detail, heading to the airport in a motorcade stretching more than a dozen vehicles, flanked by a dozen more cops on motorcycles.” [ABC News via Steve Silberman]

The missing votes could have been submitted for Ron Paul. Maybe even as Governor of Alaska!

Maybe Alaska voters were afraid if they voted against the Governor she’d retaliate against them.  And maybe the missing votes were for Obama…

I don’t believe Obama stole caucuses – it appeared he was far better organized and had almost unlimited funds.

Should they point out he and his backers bought the election I might agree.

On a side note – Of course had the other candidate been able to remember his name half of the time that might have made some kind of difference.

Obama didnt steal caucuses … he was better organized and had more strident suppoters … he started as a long-shot candidate with little money

its amazing how bitter some of the Clintonites are … like they NEVER practiced hard-ball dirty politics?  they practically invented it, and passed the gameplan on to Karl Rove

OK…so Obama steals the Democratic nomination from Hillary Clinton through caucus fraud and you hear CRICKETS. Did the Huffington Post cover that? Nope. So excuse me if I’m a bit dubious of this obviously partisan nonsense being posted.  The shameless cover-ups of Obama’s undemocratic activities and other negatives are appalling.

And no, I’m not a Republican.
