Fitzgerald may be called to testify about Libby case

      Posted by Jeff from Rawstory

Leahy added that this was "a blatant way of guaranteeing that Scooter Libby would not talk about the things that were done, you know, some of the misleading information given out by Vice President Cheney and the president. They led us into this war in Iraq, and they bought his silence. I can understand why the prosecutor was so angry about it."

Jason Leopold reports: "In a recent interview, former US Ambassador Joseph Wilson told me that he and his wife, Valerie Plame Wilson, both strongly feel that Vice President Dick Cheney is behind efforts to block her from discussing her work for the Central Intelligence Agency before 2002 in a memoir to be published in October titled 'Fair Game.' Plame Wilson's undercover CIA identity was leaked to a handful of reporters by senior Bush administration officials. She and her husband believe the le...

    • Plame Sues CIA for Blocking Her Memoir

      Posted by Jeff from Feeds.feedburner

Valerie Wilson, the former intelligence operative at the heart of an investigation that reached into the White House, sued the CIA in federal court in New York on Thursday over its refusal to allow her to publish a memoir that would discuss how long she had worked for the agency. Although that information is set out in an unclassified letter to Ms. Wilson that has been published in the Congressional Record, the CIA contends that her dates of service remain classified and may not be mentioned in...

Plame was ‘covert’ agent at time of name leak

      Posted by Billbar from MSNBC

The unclassified summary of Plame's employment with the CIA at the time that syndicated columnist Robert Novak published her name on July 14, 2003 says, "Ms. Wilson was a covert CIA employee for who the CIA was taking affirmative measures to conceal her intelligence relationship to the United States."

    • Fitzgerald Says Plame Was a Covert Agent

      Posted by Jeff from Feeds.feedburner

In new court filings, Special Counsel Patrick Fitzgerald has finally resolved one of the most disputed issues at the core of the long-running CIA leak controversy: Valerie Plame Wilson, he asserts, was a "covert" CIA officer. Fitzgerald cites Wilson's covert status as part of his argument, advanced in two strongly worded memos filed in recent days, that I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby, Vice President Dick Cheney's former chief of staff, should be sentenced for up to three years in prison.

Plame to testify before House committee

      Posted by Jeff from MSNBC

"The trial proceedings raise questions about whether senior White House officials, including the vice president and senior adviser to the president Karl Rove, complied with the requirements governing the handling of classified information," Waxman wrote in his invitation to Fitzgerald.

McClellan to Testify About Plame Outing

This is exciting news if you are unaware of the fact that Joe Wilson is the reason her name was leaked. Her ID was leaked by Richard Armitage months before the Novak column. Armitage only knew who she was because Wilson was running his mouth and telling everyone that they had to listen to him because his wife was in the CIA.

But that isn’t exciting enough, it’s much more exciting if we can forget the facts and blame Bush.

    Plame sues Cheney, Rove, Libby

Joseph Wilson made it clear a while ago that they would be doing this. I'm glad to see it happen, though.
