Posted by Jeff from Huffington Post

The city had contended that the documents should remain confidential, saying opening them would jeopardize the city's rights to a fair trial. Lawsuits allege that the city violated constitutional rights when it arrested more than 1,800 people at the convention. The judge stayed his ruling for 10 days. Peter Farrell, a city lawyer, said the city is considering an appeal.

Primetime Lies: How ABC News Cheers Police Brutality / Pierre Tristam [Candide's Notebooks]

they are a corporation and the corporations run this country and own the government. the government gives corporation more and more power. since police are the enforcement arm of government on all levels it is necessary to demonstrate to the population at large the level of violence that can be dealt out to those who run afoul of the police. this will silence many of the voices of protest of those who have had enough of the corporate takeover of the US and the world. and it works! look at any police violence video on a site like YouTube and read the comments. no matter how extreme the police violence or unnecessary in the comments are those who proudly post about their willingness to subjugate and submit to anything a law enforcement officer does. they so sincerely believe that a badge and a gun equate to divine righteousness. what pathetic fools. as Frank Zappa once said, "There’s a difference between kneeling down and bending over."
