Mercenary Outfit Send Mass Email Offering Positions in the Wake of Gustav

One of the many tragedies of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina three years ago was the fact that insurance companies used the event to systematically deny claims, leaving victims further in desperate straits. That shouldn’t happen following any natural disaster, and even though the immediate storm effects did not cause as much damage as predicted, there are sure to be plenty of claims for flood damages throughout the Midwest and along Gustav’s path. If you or someone you know has been denied an insurance claim related to Gustav: http://www.gustav-insurance-claim-denials.com/ that would be a site you should visit.

Congress's Apology for Slavery Is a Good Thing—It's Just Not Enough

Agreed. Now that the apology has been made all can be forgiven and everyone should be happy. Lets get on with life.

BTW – Slavery wasn’t "just the evil doings of greedy Southern planters." Slavery was a 5,000 year old institution practiced all over the world (and still is in places.)  Perhaps apologies should be demanded from a few of those places?

Yes, good to know that our Congress is focused on such important issues while they completely ignore stupid things like the cost of energy.

Castro urges Farc to free hostages

If there’s one thing that annoys me is to see Colombia spelt wrong. The day journalists learn to write Colombia (not Columbia) is the day when news from South America will be less biased.

Is the New Yorker's Muslim Obama cover incendiary or satire? | Top of the Ticket | Los Angeles Times

It’s both. Right, it’s satire to the elitist New Yorker editorial board – oblivious to the incendiary impact of what they’ve done.

Yes she voted for that bill. I find the T-shirt message ominous.
