    • Pope May Okay Condoms in Fight Against AIDs

Posted by Jeff from New Zealand Herald

Via RawStory: Catholics Prepare to Get Their Groove On: The study's contents are secret but it is believed that it urges a subtle but important change of tack. Condom use will be permitted if a man with HIV insists on having sex with his non-infected wife, as a "lesser evil".

    • Turks hijack airliner to protest pope’s visit

      Posted by Billbar from MSNBC

A Turkish Airlines plane carrying 113 people from Albania to Istanbul landed in Italy on Tuesday after being hijacked by two Turks protesting the pope's visit to Turkey next month, officials said. The plane landed in Brindisi, Italy, and the hijackers told authorities they were prepared to surrender, said Candan Karlitekin, chairman of Turkish Airlines' board of directors. "They seem to be not particularly hostile nor armed," he said. "The passengers are not under any threat," Karlitekin said. "There is no loss of life or any injuries."

    • The real reasons to hate the Pope

      Posted by Billbar

The tragedy is that when there are so many good reasons to hate Joseph Ratzinger, this week’s rioters have chosen one of the few bogus ones. For over a decade now, he has been one of the primary defenders of priests who go to the poorest, most vulnerable people in the world and tell them condoms are the cause of AIDS. In the past year, I have sat in two Catholic churches thousands of miles apart and listened while a Catholic priest told illiterate people with no alternative sources of information that condoms come pre-infected with AIDS and are the reason people die of it. In Bukavu, a crater-city in Congo, and in the slums ringing Caracas, Venezuela, people believed it. They told me they “would not go to Heaven” if they used condoms, and that condoms contain tiny invisible holes through which the virus passes – the advice their priest had doled out.

    • Pope to meet Muslim envoys as protests continue

      Posted by Billbar from Reuters

"The purpose of this meeting is to relaunch dialogue with the Islamic world," said a senior Vatican official on Friday. "We welcome it and are definitely going to participate," said Iran's deputy ambassador to the Holy See, Ahmad Faihma. "This is a positive signal from the Vatican. I know that this will improve relations with the Islamic world," he said.

Pope May Okay Condoms in Fight Against AIDs

Many die from AIDS  each day and the church could help by teaching correct moral practices.  The pope fails to act and claims to be a  leader who speaks to God on our behave.  He and the church members who support him will have a lot to answer for when they arrive on judgment day.
