Levenson, a professor at Loyola Law School who tried prison murder cases as a federal prosecutor. "But the truth is, this [gang] is like a hydra: You cut off a limb, and it's going to grow back," she said. "These guys have been around a long time, and they're going to get new leaders.

    • Jury Convicts 4 White-Supremacists

      Barry "The Baron" Mills, Tyler "The Hulk" Bingham, Edgar "The Snail" Hevle and Christopher Overton Gibson were the first defendants to stand trial in the federal racketeering case aimed at dismantling the feared Aryan Brotherhood. They all were convicted under Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations law, and offenses known as Violent Crime In Aid of Racketeering. Mills and Bingham are eligible for the death penalty. The death penalty phase against Mills and Bingham was scheduled to begin Aug. 15 with the same jury. Sentencing for Hevle and Gibson was set for Oct. 23. They face 20 years to life in prison.

      A pagan religion that some experts say can be interpreted as encouraging violence is gaining popularity among prison inmates, one of whom is scheduled to be executed this week for killing a fellow prisoner at the foot of an altar. Asatru is often referred to as Odinism, although some followers believe the two are separate religions. It is a polytheistic, pre-Christian faith native to Scandinavia whose adherents worship gods including Thor and Odin.

    83 convicted felons freed as state exceeds jail limit

    Last I checked conservatives don’t like to pay for taxes for building enough prisons…

    But part of the problem is that conservatives want to lock up everyone even for minor drug crimes that could be better treated in specialized treatment programs. What a waste of taxpayer money.
