    • Local Puget Sound to creep up, up

Posted by Jeff from Seattle Times

Under the study's worst-case scenario, which Mote stresses is highly unlikely, sea levels in Puget Sound could rise more than 4 feet by 2100. That would require a confluence of bad news: runaway greenhouse gas emissions; accelerated melting of glaciers on Greenland and Antarctica; and an exaggerated climate response to rising levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

Dam is gone, salmon are back

Posted by Jeff from Seattle Times

Along the way, scientists are getting a glimpse of what can happen when a dam, albeit a small one, is demolished: As fish gradually reclaim their former habitat, Goldsborough Creek is becoming a more important source of salmon for the southern tip of Puget Sound.

    • Puget Sound Energy plans solar power plant

Celebrity Cruises fined $100,000 for dumping

Local Opponents have say on Navy's dolphin patrol plan

Apparently, we may start killing sea lions soon:

“The bill would create a temporary fast-track process for Oregon, Washington and the four Columbia River treaty tribes to get permits to kill a limited number of the sea lions when nonlethal harassment has failed.”

So the message is clear, join the Navy or risk being shot! And stop snacking.
