Top Bush aides approved interrogation tactics: report

      Posted by Jeff from Rawstory

"Highly placed sources said a handful of top advisers signed off on how the CIA would interrogate top al Qaeda suspects -- whether they would be slapped, pushed, deprived of sleep or subjected to simulated drowning, called waterboarding," ABC reported. War crimes trials in the future?

12 Detainees Sue Rumsfeld in Germany, Citing Abuse

Posted by Jeff from New York Times

A week after President Bush announced that Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld would resign, lawyers asked a German prosecutor to investigate Mr. Rumsfeld and other American officials for suspected war crimes stemming from the treatment of prisoners in military jails in Iraq and Cuba.

Daily Kos: Explosive Army, Air Force, and Navy Times editorial

      Posted by Jeff from Dailykos

Rumsfeld Must Go: But until recently, the "hard bruising" truth about the Iraq war has been difficult to come by from leaders in Washington. One rosy reassurance after another has been handed down by President Bush, Vice President Cheney and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld: "mission accomplished," the insurgency is "in its last throes," and "back off," we know what we're doing, are a few choice examples.

I think we should waterboard all the "principals" until they confess.

Rumsfeld Memo on Iraq Proposed ‘Major’ Change

It’s sort of a joke – Rumsfeld finally figured it out – what a sage!

Blumenthal: George Bush Sr. asked retired general to replace Rumsfeld

When Bush sr. went to Iraq 1991, he just simply was right, because there was no other choice because of the mess mostly nazi-germans had created there. This mess was it, which gave enough arguments to the un-security council for it’s decisions.

When Bush jr. went to Iraq, he just simply was wrong, because he did not listen to his father and HAD TO LIE to the un-security council to press his point of view.

But the tragedy is, that also Bush jr. basically had no other choice, too. Just the reasons had not been that obvious as 1991.

Bush jr. clearly is not his father and the executive people around him by no means could cope with Bush sr. crew.

Your summary is ambiguous -- and a casual reader might get the impression that Rumsfeld wants to use nuclear warheads against terrorists, but in fact, the opposite is true: he wants to be able to use ICBMs with non-nuclear warheads. I'm not saying this is a good idea, mind you. ;-)
