    • Radovan Karadzic's Srebrenica Genocide Denial Defence

Posted by srebrenicagenocideinfo from Financial Times

Radovan Karadzic, the former Bosnian Serb leader charged with war crimes, will base his defence on the Srebrenica genocide denial argument that no genocide occurred at Srebrenica. Goran Petronijevic, Karadzic's chief legal adviser, said his client would argue that the killings were not genocide. Anthony Dworkin, executive director of the UK-based Crimes of War Project, said such a legal strategy carried risk. "Karadzic is taking a long shot to put it mildly. He would be lucky to get very far with this," he said. Srebrenica genocide claimed lives of 8,000 - 10,000 Bosniaks, mostly men, children, and elderly victims.

Srebrenica Genocide Architect Radovan Karadzic Loses Motion to Overturn Trial

      Posted by srebrenicagenocideinfo

Former Bosnian Serb leader, Radovan Karadzic, is facing trial for ordering Srebrenica genocide in which 10,000 people were killed, including at least 500 children. Karadzic's motion seeking and order requiring the Prosecution to allow inspection and disclosure of certain information it may have in its possession which are, according to the accused, material for his defense, has been partly dismissed and partly denied. The Trial Chamber found that part of the motion to inspect the archives was premature and sent to the wrong address while in the part seeking the disclosure of information, the accused "has not met the required criteria outlined for the issuance of the Chamber's order"

    • Former Yugoslav Army Chief on Trial for Srebrenica Genocide

Posted by srebrenicagenocideinfo from International Herald Tribune

A former Yugoslav army chief goes on trial Wednesday for his role in atrocities during Srebrenica genocide and siege of Sarajevo. Prosecutors have charged Perisic with 13 counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity carried out by his subordinates including murder, extermination, persecution and attacking civilians. His indictment charges him with failing to investigate or punish Yugoslav army officers linked to the 1995 murder of 8,000 Bosniak men, elderly, and children in the U.N. safe haven of Srebrenica in eastern Bosnia, the Sarajevo siege and the May 1995 shelling of the Croatian capital, Zagreb.

    • A Mountain of Evidence Pointing to Bosnian Genocide

      Posted by srebrenicagenocideinfo

Even before the trial of the former Bosnian Serb leader Radovan Karadzic begins, it is clear that that the job of prosecuting him will be time-consuming but possibly relatively simple - in his years on power, Serb warlord has left an overwhelming amount of evidence against himself, much of which has already been heard in the many chambers of the Hague tribunal. Maps, newspaper clippings, video-footages, minutes from late night sessions, official speeches and relaxed telephone chats - a veritable mountain of materials gathered by the tribunal prosecutors during ten years of their work creates a chilling, detailed picture of the way in which the Bosnian genocide and Srebrenica genocide unfolded.

Serbia Directly Responsible for Srebrenica Genocide, New Evidence

A source close to The Hague Tribunal told the Dnevni avaz paper that a large part of these documents refer to events in Srebrenica, which directly accuse the highest military and political leadership of Yugoslavia for crimes committed over civilians in Srebrenica.

    - These documents include transcripts of conversations, including a conversation between Momcilo Perisic and Ratko Mladic. Croatian intelligence wiretapped the telephone call in Slavonia and these documents have been made available to The Hague Prosecution. This recording will reveal the truth of Yugoslavia’s responsibility for genocide committed in Srebrenica – a source told the Dnevni avaz paper.

These documents might be a powerful backbone for Bosnia-Herzegovina`s lawsuit against Serbia, if they are not protected by the court.

Relatives of Srebrenica Genocide Victims Shocked at Genocide Suspect Acquittals

Prosecutors in the case had sought sentences totaling 150 years’ imprisonment. However, although the judge ruled that the men had helped round up civilians, he said it had not been proven that they were directly involved in the murders.

“This is a disgrace. While we are looking at mass graves all day long, verdicts like this are made. I’m very unsatisfied with the Bosnian courts,” Sabra Kolenovic, a member of the Mothers of Srebrenica group, told IWPR.

Defendants Zdravko Bozic, Zoran Zivanovic and Zeljko Zaric were released from detention immediately, despite the judge’s finding that they had helped to guard buses holding Bosniak men.

Several protected witness, known only by pseudonyms, said the defendants had guarded detained civilians in Srebrenica, and had also been guards of a column of around 30 buses that shipped the men out of the town of Bratunac.

Resolution 819 for Prevention of Srebrenica Genocide

The U.N. Security Council Resolution 819 demanded Serbia and Montenegro (Yugoslavia) to take measures to prevent Srebrenica genocide and cease the supply of military arms, equipment and services to the Bosnian Serbs. The resolution also demanded Bosnian Serbs cease attacks on Srebrenica, stop ethnic cleansing, and immediately withdraw from areas around the enclave. Serbia and her proxies in Bosnia had repeatedly violated this resolution. Bosnian Serbs from militarized Serb-held villages around Srebrenica continued attacking and terrorizing Bosniak (Muslim) population in the besieged town of Srebrenica. Serbia continued supplying arms and logistic support to the Bosnian Serb terrorists around Srebrenica. As a result, the International Court of Justice ruled in 2007 that Serbia had violated its obligation under the Genocide Convention to prevent genocide in Srebrenica and that it has also violated its obligations under the Convention by having failed fully to co-operate with the International Criminal Tribunal.

Yugoslav Gen Momcilo Perisic on Trial for Srebrenica Genocide

Interestingly, Serbia’s General Momcilo Perisic – who participated in Srebrenica genocide – is using old trick for his defense blaming victims for killing themselves. If this was not sad, it would be funny.

Srebrenica Genocide - Europe's Worst Genocide Since the Holocaust

...By the evening of July 11, some 25-30,000 were clamouring at the high wire gates of the Dutch compound, but the UN troops — who had been assured by Mladic that buses would be sent to ferry them to safety — would not let them in. The next day, the Serb troops waded into the pathetic, bedraggled throng of Bosnians, knives and bayonets drawn. Karadzic’s summary executions, which now extended to women and children, had begun.

One witness later described how a Serb soldier ordered a mother to stop her baby crying. When she failed, he grabbed the child, and, laughing, slit its throat….

War criminals are really stupid. Radovan Karadzic is a perfect example of stupidity. NObody can deny genocide in Srebrenica. Nobody. Two international courts have already confirmed genocide occured in their judgments. And stupid Radovan thinks he can overturn it? hahahahha
