Explosion scares U.N. chief in Iraq

      Posted by Jeff from MSNBC

Read on ... "Three U.S. soldiers were reported killed and rival Shiite gunmen clashed in Basra, Iraq’s second city whose oil fields are the source of most of the country’s wealth." - That's right - there's now clashes between the Shia - within the same relgious sect. If that's not a sign that everything has come undone, then I don't know what is.

U.S. Funds Being Secretly Funneled To Middle East Terrorists?

Drives me nuts how the Bush administration is able to use the CIA without Senate oversight under the notion that they are operating under the military!

    Wow:

A by-product of these activities has been the bolstering of Sunni extremist groups that espouse a militant vision of Islam and are hostile to America and sympathetic to Al Qaeda.

There’s more on this in the blogosphere. Crooks and Liars has partial transcript of a CNN interview. Think Progress also has more details.

Hersh has a good track record at accurate off-the-record reporting. The article is an in-depth analysis, not a quick off-the-cuff assertion.
