(Mr. Kircher said his company purposefully installed a slower, $3 million double chair instead of a high-speed quad to limit the number of people who skied the area each hour.)

      Mount Baker: All Terrain and No Hype

      Washington State's Mount Baker was featured in the New York Times' Escape column this week. It was written up with the sort of Mad River Glen-esque - all terrain no frills angle. To be honest, I've only boarded there once. It's far enough from Seattle that I typically prefer to drive a bit further to go to Whistler.
