Americans are in serious intellectual trouble -- in danger of losing our hard-won cultural capital to a virulent mixture of anti-intellectualism, anti-rationalism and low expectations.

While the word survivor might bring to mind someone who had beaten a deadly disease like cancer or who had survived some horrific accident, the fact is Jordon survived an epidemic which continues to disable and even kill thousands of young people in the prime of their youth. This epidemic is costing our society in millions of dollars...
