      A new strain of TB that can kill within a month has hit South Africa - prompting a high-level meeting of experts in Johannesburg on Thursday. The strain - Extremely Drug Resistant Tuberculosis (XDR-TB) - is said to be virtually untreatable. It emerged in Tugela Ferry in KwaZulu-Natal, killing 52 of the 53 people infected with it, half of them within 25 days of diagnosis.
