    • Vick’s Sentence Shows America's Racist Ways

      Posted by Shemuses

Atlanta Falcon’s quarterback Michael Vick was sentenced to two years in prison for running a dogfighting ring out of his home and some dog-lovers are up in arms over – what they say – is not enough time. But New America Media commentator Charles Jones says that the reaction of some Americans to the Vick case gives away their contradictory views regarding black men.

    Hacker Uncovers Chinese Olympic Fraud

It’s not China so much as the IOC. The IOC apparently is uninterested in pursuing such issues, preferring to take the word of the Host.

The USSR/East Block countries did some interesting bending of the rules years back and very little happened to any of them.

So cheating will only be enforced against athletes who don’t have direct Government backing.

Rights groups bemoan lack of Beijing protests

Yeah, you’re right about that, but unlike other communist dictatorships China is allowing westernization and capitalism in at the edges. The USSR collapsed, and Venezuela is heading that way, because they didn’t allow it.

I think it will be interesting to see how that evolves, especially as illegal internet access starts to creep in around the edges.

It’s a wonder that there are still people in the west singing the virtues of communism. Some of them teach in and run our colleges and Universities.

    Communist dictatorship suppresses dissent.

What’s the matter, you thought the Chinese government was nice?

Think of the most oppressive government action you can.

Then check to see if China has done it.

    You’ll find it has.

Well, it’s China. Is anyone surprised by this?

I think that as time goes on China will find it increasing hard to keep that iron lock on society and still allow modernization. It will be interesting see see how that resolves.

This is typical of how the IOC has bowed very low to China in every way, regarding these Olympics.  From lax to a lack of, enforcement of even the mildest of prerequisites China agreed to in order to secure Beijing as the host city, to staying mum while China stops athletes from competing based on their politcal beliefs, the IOC have shown what they are really about: the money!
