      About 5,200 victims of Srebrenica genocide - Europe's worst genocide since World War 2 - have been identified through DNA analysis so far. Approximately, 4000 victims were unearthed from 10 Kamenica mass graves. Forensic experts had unearthed the remains of 362 victims of the 1995 Srebrenica genocide from the tenth mass grave in Kamenica village. The 1995 Srebrenica genocide claimed lives of 8,000 - 10,000 Bosniaks - men, children, and elderly.

      Nearly 3,600 bodies of Srebrenica genocide victims have so far been exhumed from 10 mass graves in the Kamenica valley alone. Experts believe there are more such graves in the Kamenica area. Last year, another grave in the valley yielded more than 1,000 body parts, making it the biggest such site in Bosnia.

The victims were shot to death and they included children who were between 7 and 11 years old. Over 8,000 Bosniaks died during Srebrenica genocide.

Srebrenica massacre has been judicially proven and recognized as genocide by the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia, and subsequently by the International Court of Justice at the Hague. In addition, the International Association of Genocide Scholars, as well as the U.S. Senate Resolution recognize this massacre as genocide.
