    • Are Corporate Tax Breaks Illegal?

      a U.S. Supreme Court case coming up for a hearing involves investment tax credits Ohio granted Chrysler. The 6th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled that they violate the U.S. Constitution's Commerce Clause. The Supreme Court won't rule until later this year, but a victory for the Ohio taxpayers would put a major dent in states' ability to offer such tax breaks.

    Your concern that Microsoft is avoiding paying income taxes to the State of Washington is based on the erroneous belief that there is an income tax in Washington. Please check out http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/State_income_tax
