Sun: MoD has Bond/Potter/Klingon cloaking device

Posted by Kaerast from The Register UK

The quality press is awash with invisible-tank stories this morning, as the Daily Mail, Telegraph, Ananova news wire et al pile into an exclusive scoop by the Sun. It would seem that the Currant Bun scribes have spoken to a squaddie from the Royal Engineers, who claims to have been involved in trials last week featuring a (take your pick) James Bond Die Another Day Aston-Martin / Klingon Bird-of-Prey / Harry Potter's cloak -style tank which can become invisible.

Congressman to Comcast: Stop interfering with BitTorrent

Posted by Damianmann from Tuscaloosa News

While a class action lawsuit is definitely one way to get Comcast to behave, another perhaps more productive way to do so is to have politicians step in and regulate. On Tuesday, I discussed the issue of Comcast's anti-BitTorrent "network management" with Rep. Rick Boucher, D-Va., who is a strong supporter of consumer rights and has led the battle to undo the damage caused by the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, or DMCA.

Seeing No Progress, Some Schools Drop Laptops

Posted by Jon from New York Times

It’s a distraction to the educational process.”

This seems fairly limited and lame to me. Facebook is still way ahead.

The plea of a dying breed: Don't kill the bike messengers

I am reminded of the video for Nada Surf’s “Whose Authority”, featuring a bike messenger on the streets of New York City. On some of the sites on which it was previewed, there’s a lot of negativity from user comments being spewed about how out of touch the band must be to have chosen such an “irrelevant” symbol.
