    • Iraq auditing - shooting the messenger

      Posted by SoxFirst

The Bush administration is closing down the Office of the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction which has consistently exposed corrupt practices. Blame it on some obscure clause sneaked into a military spending bill terminating the auditor's work. It’s like Dilbert. Got a problem with the project? Fire the auditor.

    • Democrats & Liberals:: Arrest the Press

      Posted by Damianmann from watchblog

Alberto Gonzales said he would not hesitate to “track” phone calls made by reporters as part of a leak investigation. He goes on to say officials “would not do it routinely and randomly.” We all know what that means. Based on this administrations past record, this means they\\'re tapping (tracking) randomly and routinely and have been since 9/11 and will continue to do so because the cowardly act of flying planes into buildings, killing innocent people has some how anointed this President king of the universe and bestowed unto him the power to break laws, ignore the constitution and dismantle human rights.

      Coulter's book and 666

Posted by Damianmann from Media Matters

Ann Coulter made an appearance on Fox News' Your World with Neil Cavuto to plug her new book Godless: The Church of Liberalism. Cavuto noted that Godless is set for release on June 6, 2006, or 6-6-6, the "sign of the devil, they say, and this year ... the latest attack on liberals." Coulter said that the release date was her "little tribute to liberals, to have it come out on 6-6-6."

    • Blogs: PEEK: More Jill Carroll bashing

      Posted by Damianmann from Alternet

Apparently Jill Carroll's attitude is just too damned Christian for conservative America. Angry and suspicious at her lack of vitriol for her captors who killed her translator but released her, the National Review-ers are doing a pile-on while the producer of the Imus show is doing his best to sound like an overgrown fratboy.

I'm a bit of a news junkie. Subscribe to the NY Times and Newsday (although the latter leaves a lot to be desired in terms of real news.) I enjoy the way Stewart and Colbert analyze the days events.
