Time Subs U.S. Cover: Removes Afghanistan Lead...

Posted by Jeff from Huffington Post

On the cover of its international edition is a story that is less easily boiled down: "The Truth About Talibanistan," about the resurgence of the Taliban and al-Qaeda in Afghanistan (and also, Pakistan), and how it's "the next battleground of the war on terrorism." The story is in the U.S. edition of the magazine but not on the American cover, presumably because Rick Stengel & co. think the Bible will do better newsstand (even though it is a singularly unattractive cover).

    • Earth's time lords make new year wait a second

Posted by bugeats from Times Online

A Unix time stamp is a simple count of the number of seconds passed since some date in 1979 -- so it's entirely dependent --- no, wait a second (pardon the pun), this won't have any effect on time stamps at all, in fact it's another example of good engineering in Unix. nevermind...
