    • U.S. to rely on Russia for manned spaceflight - International Herald Tribune

Posted by okami from International Herald Tribune

STAR CITY, Russia: This place was once no place, a secret military base northeast of Moscow that did not show up on maps. The Soviet Union trained its astronauts here to fight on the highest battlefield of the Cold War: space.

Yet these days, Star City is the place for America's hard-won orbital partnership with Russia, where astronauts train to fly aboard Soyuz spacecraft. And in two years, according to the Bush administration's plans, Star City will be the only place for sending astronauts from any nation to the International Space Station.

    • European standoff over search engine data - International Herald Tribune

Posted by okami from International Herald Tribune

BERLIN: For more than a year, European data privacy officials have been battling with U.S. Internet search engines, trying to get them to conform to European restrictions on the storage of personal information gleaned from the Web.

Now, as the U.S. titans Google, Microsoft and Yahoo continue to retain personal data beyond the six-month time limit established this year by the European Commission, regulators say their patience is running thin.

Neo-Nazi Magazine to Feature Obama Assassination Cover

      Posted by theangryindian from Angryindian.blogspot

Neo-Nazi boss Bill White, long given to swaggering threats and proposals for violence, this week went even further than normal - announcing plans for a magazine cover headlined "Kill This ******?" with a photo of Barack Obama and, two days later, publishing the home address of a juror who helped convict another neo-Nazi leader in a federal conspiracy case.

Pakistani tribal chiefs threaten to join Taliban

Posted by okami from Guardian UK

If the united States continues it's present policy of 'cross-border attacks' (ie, incursions) into western Pakistan from Afghanistan, they will be facing troubles in addition to retaliation from the Pakistani army. Tribal leaders of the western area swear that they will join the Taliban if the incursions and attacks continue. These leaders claim to represent half a million Pakistanis, all of whom would go to the Taliban if the US continues this policy.

McCain denounced Russia as a KGB run state and has called to oust Russia from the G8. How will this partnership be affected if he gets voted in?

That is horrible. They actually encourage people to kill future president? That is horrible. They should be charged for inciting terrorism.

Mercenary Outfit Send Mass Email Offering Positions in the Wake of Gustav

One of the many tragedies of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina three years ago was the fact that insurance companies used the event to systematically deny claims, leaving victims further in desperate straits. That shouldn’t happen following any natural disaster, and even though the immediate storm effects did not cause as much damage as predicted, there are sure to be plenty of claims for flood damages throughout the Midwest and along Gustav’s path. If you or someone you know has been denied an insurance claim related to Gustav: http://www.gustav-insurance-claim-denials.com/ that would be a site you should visit.
