I hate hand-guns. Shot-guns are made for hunting game (wild animals), which is necessary to help keep populations in check to prevent over-population, which can cause serious eco-damage, including leading to the extinction of numerous different species. But hand-guns are made for one purpose: killing humans.

Scientologists Helping On The Front Lines

      Posted by Orato

In the wake of the Tsunami, my friend called his wife and informed her that he was going to take an immediate leave from his sales job for several weeks to travel thousands of miles to villages he’d never heard of to help people he’d never met in a culture he knew little about. That he was a member of my church’s Volunteer Ministers group meant only that I, as a scientologist, was fortunate enough to hear about his determination...

Scientology Exploits The Virginia Tech Tragedy

      Posted by Orato

As a journalist covering Scientology since 1996, I can assure readers that the cult is an evil, totalitarian mind-control outfit driven solely by greed as dictated by the unalterable doctrine of its insane, drug-addled, megalomaniac founder, L Ron Hubbard....most disturbing of late is their habit of exploiting tragedies for their own gain. The Virginia Tech tragedy is a case in point.

Students at Virginia Tech Were Scared to Attend Class with Cho

Posted by Jeff from New York Times

On at least two separate occasions they reached out to university officials, telling them as recently as this September that Mr. Cho was trouble. They made little headway, however, and no action was taken by school administrators in response to their concerns. The students also made their fears known, some even refusing to attend class as long Mr. Cho was there. Others tried to reach out to him.

    • America Fails Its Children Yet Again

      Posted by Orato

The appalling Virginia Tech killings reveal that for all of its billions spent on "Homeland Security," the safety of the students and faculty at Virginia Tech was compromised by a system that just doesn't work. 9/11, Katrina, Iraq, and now Virginia Tech. America's vast resources and enormous bureaucracies and armies of soldiers, police officers, engineers just can't protect its people.

Gunman Kills 21 on Virginia Tech Campus

This Patriot’s Day massacre gives all of us pause. At height of the war in Yugoslavia the day of the most intense bombing is four days from today – April 20th. The same day when two kids went bowling in the morning and by early afternoon executed themselves, a teacher and their classmates in Littleton, CO (1999).
What has a westernized, violence-glorifying culture achieved with its latest record-setting carnage? More cause for denial, it appears. No, it definitely was not another white guy losing it in public with weapons of his choice. No, this culture, which extols the values of raiders, is not in decline and the least fulfilling one for most of its citizens than any other industrialized country.

Is 22 dead enough people to protect unarmed civilians from uncontrolled gun owners? Just because we choose not to own guns doesn’t mean we should continue to be shot down by those who can so easily get guns without even having to register.
