Assuming they live, he will join former presidents Jimmy Carter, Bill Clinton and his father in a unique fraternity. He will be 62. He is a relatively young man in good physical health. He will be capable of a vigorous life as a former president. He is not considered an intellectual. What will he do for the next three decades?

      Dick Cheney is the leading practitioner of the ends-justify-the-means mentality, where only his vision of the desired ends counts. Serving corporate interests rather than serving the people is Cheney’s brand of patriotism. Our Constitution should not allow the government to make us victims and our nation hated by so much of the world. That’s what Cheney should teach us. Now, it’s up to us.
