Posted by papadavid from Yahoo News!

WASHINGTON - The Pentagon has extended the tour of 2,200 Marines in Afghanistan, after insisting for months the unit would come home on time. ADVERTISEMENT The 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit, which is doing combat operations in the volatile south, will stay an extra 30 days and come home in early November rather than October, Marine Col. David Lapan confirmed Thursday. Military leaders as recently as Wednesday stressed the need for additional troops in Afghanistan. Adm. Mike Mullen, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has repeatedly praised the work of the 24th MEU in fighting Taliban militants in Helmand Province. Defense Secretary Robert Gates, however, has repeatedly said he did not intend to extend or replace the U.S. Marines in Afghanistan, calling their deployment there

    • Will the Next War for Oil Be in Africa?

      Posted by Shemuses

The number of Americans who believe that the war in Iraq was a mistake has surpassed the number who felt the same way about Vietnam during that war. At the same time, a much quieter U.S. military build-up is underway on another continent. The ultimate objective of the two efforts is the same: securing Big Oil's access to the regions' oil. The impact in Africa will likely be the same as in Iraq: perpetual occupation, instability and growing anti-Americanism.

Ransom claim in Ingrid Betancourt release | World news | guardian.co.uk

If Betancourt’s assertions are true, then the United States is once again responsible (at least in part) for the setting up of false ‘heroic rescues’ and similar phenomena.

We should not forget that intitial reports from Iraq claimed that Kurdish forces captured Saddam Hussein, who then turned him over to Coalition forces.

Neither should we forget the Pat Tillman and Jessica Lynch affairs.

Inteligentaindigena Indigenismo : Real Truth Online: Vincent Bugliosi Wants Bush Charged with Murder

Bugliosi is no Shakespear, he writes as though he is addressing a jury. And he is… us. However, Geogre Bush’s deeds speak for themselves for the most part, all Bugliosi has to do is lay them out. And he does…clearly.

Let us hope that there are some attorneys out there that still have some faith in the legal system and will work to prove Bugliosi’s case true or false.
