    • Scientist to Congress: Oil Execs Commit High Crimes

      Posted by Jeff from Feeds.feedburner

Testimony to US Congress will also criticize lobbyists. "Revolutionary" policies needed to tackle crisis.

New York - James Hansen, one of the world's leading climate scientists, will today call for the chief executives of large fossil fuel companies to be put on trial for high crimes against humanity and nature, accusing them of actively spreading doubt about global warming in the same way that tobacco companies blurred the links between smoking and cancer.

    • Analysis Shows Drastic Climate Change Near End Of Last Ice Age

Posted by Jeff from Environmental News Network

Information gleaned from a Greenland ice core by an international science team shows that two huge Northern Hemisphere temperature spikes prior to the close of the last ice age some 11,500 years ago were tied to fundamental shifts in atmospheric circulation. The ice core showed the Northern Hemisphere briefly emerged from the last ice age some 14,700 years ago with a 22-degree-Fahrenheit spike in just 50 years, then plunged back into icy conditions before abruptly warming again about 11,700 years ago.

    • To Stop Global Warming and Hunger, Let’s Turn to Organic Farming

      Posted by cathee from Feeds.treehugger

organic_farm_uk_grain.jpg Timothy J. LaSalle is CEO of the Rodale Institute, a 60-year-old non-profit organization dedicated to researching sustainable farming and educating farmers and consumers about the food we eat. He will be contributing posts to TreeHugger as a guest blogger on an ongoing basis. There is no question that a perfect storm of factors – from rising oil prices to the growing climatic impact of global warming – are creating a silent tsunami of global hunger. There is also no question that the world’s most vulnerable disproportionately live in Africa where food aid has failed to keep ah...

Boil Them In Big Oil? Let’s Start With You! : Conservative Politics Today

The old saying is still true. "Figures don’t lie, but liars can figure."  Move to hydrocarbon free energy ? Great idea !  Build "green" homes ? Another great idea. Build a religion around blaming human activity for global warming ? Not so good.  The man behind the curtain will always be exposed.

GM's Bob Lutz: global warming "still a crock"

Umm. Have you ever heard of this thing they call “Science”? There are no credible scientists anywhere on the planet who doubt the findings of the IPCC. Bob Lutz clearly is not a scientist, and clearly doesn’t know **** from shinola.

GM's Bob Lutz: global warming "still a crock"

Although I wouldn’t use foul language to express my view on global warming, Mr. Bob Lutz of GM is correct in his statement. Nevertheless, I believe the earth warms and cools, but it is neither our fault nor can we prevent it. We need clear air, and we’ve had it for some time now, but perfect air to breath will never happen!
Perhaps, in another 25 years we will need global warming, because the earth will cool again as it has done so in the past. Our leaders will still be hung on global warming, and we won’t be able to stop all the money from flowing to it, because ‘global warming’ isn’t about the earth heating up, it’s about ‘the powers that be’; to be in control of the populous, and leveling the world economies.
When the people are convinced they are doing something good, it’s all but imposible to turn their momentum around, and our leadship will lead America into the abiss of financial doom. All this will create a one world government over a poor people, which mostly will be accepted because we believed we were doing something good.

Once a snowball like this heads downhill, it can’t be stopped!

I wonder when we’re going to start considering “extreme” weather as the new normal???

Just saw Borge Ousland, polar explorer lecture… he talked about how the ice cap in the North Pole is about half what it was twenty years ago and once it melts and the sun spends 24 hours per day heating the ocean … we’re going to be in for some crazy weather.
