    • One Killed in Shooting in Michigan Office

Posted by Jeff from New York Times

Should workplace shootings be top stories? There is usually a formula...employee is disgruntled. Threats are made, usually ignored by the employers, co-workers or family and friends. There is usually negligence. Then one day the employee shows up to kill people with...a gun...because guns are easy to get and easy to use. There is a template here and yet the media covers each event for its ratings value. Shouldn't we be covering these events at a meta-level?
