Mercenary Outfit Send Mass Email Offering Positions in the Wake of Gustav

One of the many tragedies of the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina three years ago was the fact that insurance companies used the event to systematically deny claims, leaving victims further in desperate straits. That shouldn’t happen following any natural disaster, and even though the immediate storm effects did not cause as much damage as predicted, there are sure to be plenty of claims for flood damages throughout the Midwest and along Gustav’s path. If you or someone you know has been denied an insurance claim related to Gustav: http://www.gustav-insurance-claim-denials.com/ that would be a site you should visit.

Karl Rove Vacations in Yalta with Georgian President Saakashvili

What, precisely, was Karl Rove doing in Yalta just before the Georgian-Russian conflict?  Please don’t tell us that it was coincidental.  Premature/Thom Hartmann – why doesn’t the corporate media pick this up and run with it?  Things I hear on Air America stations that turn out to be true are always downplayed by the big guys.  Anyone who has to do with any aspect of the Bush administration gets a by if the news bite looks like it will bite a Republican.

Unless totally up to no good, there is no reason on earth why a schlock like Rove should be any where near a Georgian president. Vacationing, my foot! This is undoubtedly the biggest national and perhaps internaional rat of the last century.

    Hacker Uncovers Chinese Olympic Fraud

It’s not China so much as the IOC. The IOC apparently is uninterested in pursuing such issues, preferring to take the word of the Host.

The USSR/East Block countries did some interesting bending of the rules years back and very little happened to any of them.

So cheating will only be enforced against athletes who don’t have direct Government backing.

Rights groups bemoan lack of Beijing protests

Yeah, you’re right about that, but unlike other communist dictatorships China is allowing westernization and capitalism in at the edges. The USSR collapsed, and Venezuela is heading that way, because they didn’t allow it.

I think it will be interesting to see how that evolves, especially as illegal internet access starts to creep in around the edges.

It’s a wonder that there are still people in the west singing the virtues of communism. Some of them teach in and run our colleges and Universities.
